That's because this deep discoloration is caused by the accumulation of an algae known as Gloeocapsa magma. In our warm and humid climate, this microorganism finds its way to your roof by any means of transport — wind, rain, and even critters. Once it settles on warm shingles, it will begin to feed and photosynthesize. As it matures, it will develop a deep pigmented sheath to protect itself from UV rays, making it virtually impossible to remove — until now!
Natural State Home Wash uses a solution that was developed by the ARMA (Asphalt Roofing Manufacturer's Association) to treat these stains and keep you in compliance with your roof's warranty. Our non-pressure, gentle method of cleaning penetrates the algae and eradicates it without causing granule loss or premature failure of the roof system.
